Sideloading an OTA image

Before you begin

1. Download the correct firmware for your headset using crx’s guide.
2. Connect your headset to your computer via a reliable USB-C cable.

Caution

You cannot downgrade to a firmware version lower than your current version, or switch your current firmware’s region using OTAs.

From PICO OS

1. Create a folder on the root of the headset’s storage called dload.
2. Copy the firmware you downloaded into this folder without extracting it.
3. On the headset, go to Settings > General > System Update, and select Offline Update.

From recovery mode

1. You will need a copy of adb. If it is not installed on your computer, it is included with picounlock.
2. On the headset, “Apply update from ADB”.
3. adb sideload <path_to_downloaded_firmware>
4. Wait for it to finish (it will likely take some time).
5. Optionally, on the headset, “Wipe data/factory reset”.
